1904 Heliogravure Hoopa Valley Indian Basket Weaving Woven Baby Salmon XGZ7 YNG4 and "Fairlight" (1904)This is an original 1904 black and white heliogravure of two baskets commonly used by the Hoopa Valley Indians. The first was used to carry babies and second was for serving salmon called a kaitcint. The Hoopa, or Hupa Valley Indians of what is now part of Humboldt County in California are a culturally significant peoples. Inhabiting the Hoopa Valley, which lies on Trinity River, the culture grew to appreciate and use the surrounding valley to the
